Hello! My name is Alicia. I am married to my husband of ten years and we have three beautiful children together. We live in the outskirts of Spokane, WA in a tiny home on five acres. When I'm not teaching childbirth classes, I love spending time with my kids, canning, and spending time outdoors. I have a dream of having a large garden, but unfortunately I don't have much of a green thumb.
Prior to the birth of our first we had been through years of infertility that taught us so much. Since then, I've had three very different birth experiences including a very long labor and hospital birth with an epidural, a homebirth followed by a short NICU stay for my baby, and a blissful out of hospital birth center birth.
Through my own birth experiences I became passionate about helping other women through this incredibly transformative time of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I have trained as a doula through Wholistic Woman, but I found that childbirth education was the perfect fit for me at this time in my life. I became a Birth Boot Camp certified instructor in October of 2019. I love the evidence based curriculum and I also love the wide ranges of class options for every family's needs. I love helping couples to know their options in birth so that they can hopefully walk away from their birth experience feeling empowered and confident in motherhood! I strongly believe that our birth experiences are incredibly important and impact us and our children for years to come.
I believe that women were created beautifully and uniquely to conceive, carry, and birth their babies. Even when birth doesn't go as planned, I hope that my classes help you to understand all of your options so that you feel that every decision you made was an educated decision. I want you to feel that you were always an active participant in the birthing process.
I have also been breastfeeding for five years consecutively and have experience with multiple breastfeeding scenarios including tandem nursing. I hope to be a support for all stages of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum when possible.
Thank you for stopping by! Please check out my classes page for current class dates and locations and reach out for additional information or if you don't see a current date for a class that you are interested in.
